AuSCAA Calls on Fed Government to Act
In August 2026, AuSCAA travelled to Parliament House to launch AuSCAA's National Sudden Cardiac Arrest Plan, a nationally coordinated roadmap to address one of Australia's most significant and overlooked public health challenges.
The Plan brings together evidence-based recommendations across prevention, early identification, survival and treatment, support for survivors and bereaved families, and data and system improvement.
Those in attendance called on the Australian Government to:
• Declare sudden cardiac arrest a national public health emergency
• Endorse the National Sudden Cardiac Arrest Plan
• Release Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) funding for immediate action
• Establish a dedicated five-year national funding mission to drive reform and save lives
