The ASCALE Registry

Become part of the Australian Sudden Cardiac Arrest Lived Experience (ASCALE) Registry

From experience to action

If you are a survivor of sudden cardiac arrest, a family member, a carer, a bereaved relative, or a responder, your story has power when shared. The AuSCAA is creating a national registry to ensure voices like yours are heard.

The ASCALE Registry is a secure and respectful platform where your experience can help:

  • Advocate for change: inform government policy and healthcare decisions with real-life stories.

  • Raise awareness: share your journey through media and campaigns to educate the public about SCA and the importance of CPR and AEDs.

  • Support research: optionally connect with researchers to help improve care and support for others (subject to ethical approval).

How ASCALE works & your protection

We are committed to treating your story with the utmost dignity and care.

  • You are in control: You decide how your story is used. We will always seek your explicit permission for each new request.

  • Secure and private: Your information is protected in a secure database, managed in strict accordance with Australian privacy laws.

  • Respectful matching: AuSCAA will always contact you first to explain any opportunity and ensure you are comfortable before connecting you with media, researchers, or policymakers.

  • Ongoing support: We maintain regular check-ins to update your preferences and ensure your continued well-being.

  • Read the ASCALE Registry Code of Conduct here.
